groceries：食料品
発音は/ ˈgrouʃriz /です。
groceryは、食料・雑貨を売っているお店・スーパーという意味ですが、お店で売っている商品のことも意味し、複数形にしてgroceriesとすれば食料品となります。主に食料を指しますが、雑貨や日用品を含むこともあります。
grocery shop [store]といえばはっきりとお店を意味することになりますし、grocery bagといえばお買い物袋、reusable grocery bagといえばエコバックという感じです。grocery cartでショッピングカートです。
