今日は「梅雨」です。

Rainy season：梅雨
発音は/ ˈreini _ˈsiːzən /です。

rainy season、つまり「雨季、雨の時期」ですね。Japan's rainy season や rainy season in Japan と言えば「日本の梅雨」であることが伝わりますし、 plum rain season と直訳し、because it starts when plums are turning yellow（梅が実る頃に始まるからです）と説明してみてもいいかもしれませんね。
