Japanese auto manufacturer Honda Motor developed a special navigation system for shoes for the visually impaired.
These shoes come with a GPS mounted navigation system called Ashirase.
System comes together with a smartphone app and a three-dimensional vibration device that has a motion sensor.
The device vibrates to give direction in accordance with the map application.
Honda hopes that the device will help the visually impaired get around alone without a white cane or a guide dog.
They aim to improve GPS precision and to launch the product within the next fiscal year.
